Funds Needed for
Organ Valve Replacement

The Berghaus pipe organ is needing
some valve replacement at a cost of $3,500.
The goal is to have this project completed
in the first quarter of 2019 before Easter.
If you are interested in contributing,
please submit your offering to the SWIM
organ maintenance account 48-18.
Thank you for maintaining an
instrument we use to glorify God.
If you have any questions about the repairs, please contact
Julie Shipe McClain 608.219.9158

New Coffee Maker Please!
We thank Kathy Seffrood for making
coffee on Sunday mornings, and she is
stepping down from this responsibility.
Three options for us:
- volunteers a month at a time
(ex. one person for all of Jan and
another for Feb ... etc.)
- volunteers for a regular Sunday
(ex. on the first Sunday, another
person on the second Sunday .. etc.)
- no more coffee (gasp! :0)

Training is provided.  It takes about 30
minutes each week and can be set up
as early as Friday.  Kathy also helped
arrange for treats.  Can you make
treats or provide a $30 donation to
pay for treats?

Sunday Morning Treats
We've changed the way members help with Sunday treats.  Our goal each week is 16 dozen cookes or bars, yet that amount is too much for many bakers.  Now the goal is to get multiple bakers to donate smaller amounts yet still get our 200 treats.
Can you provide, say, 4 dozen cookies?  Sign up on the clip board on the treat table in the narthex.  When four bakers sign up, each has less work, yet we'll have plenty of treats.
For the non-bakers, you can provide all the treats with a donation of $25 to the church.  There's also a canister for donations on the table.

February Prayer Emphasis
We pray for God's voice to be heard at the
General Conference in St. Louis.

Three plans will be considered for our denomination.
Please see brief desription of each plan below.
The two key questions focus on whether United Methodists
should affirm same sex marriage and practicing
homosexual pastors.
Option One: One Church Plan
This plan would eliminate any of our current policy that
prohibits same-sex marriage and the ordination of
sexually active homosexual pastors.

Option Two: Connectional Conference Plan
Right now, the United Methodist Church is organized
by geography.  We are in the Wisconsin Annual
Conference in the North Central Jurisdiction of nine
states.  This plan suggests that Methodist Churches
should be affiliated by their teaching about sexuality

Option Three: Traditional Plan
The Traditional Plan retains the church's current position
that all people are made in God's image and all people
have sacred worth, but the practice of homosexuality is
incompatible with Christian teaching.  Openly gay
people shall not serve as pastors and United Methodist
churches may not host same-sex weddings and United
Methodist pastors may not perform same-sex weddings.

Volunteer Spotlight for March

This month we honor the dedicated people who help with the library, are members of the prayer committee, and the prayer chain members.  Prayer is such an important part of our worship experience, we thank all who pray for our church, its staff and members.  We thank also the people who keep our library current so we have a great place to find reference materials or reading materials.

To honor and thank these dedicated volunteers for all they
do, we will be serving cake between services on March 24th, 2019.

We invite you to join us
for worship.
Sundays at 8:00, 9:30 & 10:45 am
Sunday School at 9:15 am

Jesus said,

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

Our church exists so that all people might find the way,
know the truth,
and experience the life!

Through discipleship, ministry,
fellowship and worship
we strive to bring the joy of knowing Christ to our members and community.
