Sunday Morning Treats
We've changed the way members help with Sunday treats.  Our goal each week is 16 dozen cookes or bars, yet that amount is too much for many bakers.  Now the goal is to get multiple bakers to donate smaller amounts yet still get our 200 treats.
Can you provide, say, 4 dozen cookies?  Sign up on the clip board on the treat table in the narthex.  When four bakers sign up, each has less work, yet we'll have plenty of treats.
For the non-bakers, you can provide all the treats with a donation of $25 to the church.  There's also a canister for donations on the table.

Pastor’s Message – 05-31-20

Dear Beloved Church family,

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ!

It is Pentecost Sunday and is known to Christians as the "birthday of the church."

"This is the day we are handed the keys - this is the day the church is empowered to do the work that it was created to do.  This is the whole 'making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world' thing."  We can't do this without the help of the Spirit.  We can't do this without God's hand on everything we do.  We need Pentecost, if only to remind us that all we do is done by the power and presence of God.

There's a dynamic in the Bible stories that grips us.  It is as though the barrier between this world and the kin-dom world is thinner somehow.  It is almost as if all you must do is reach out your hand and then you can feel someone take hold.  All you must do is be quiet enough, and you can hear a voice that calls your name.  All you must do is ... well, take a look, or a read.  See how present the Spirit is.  See how close the kingdom is.  Take a look at Acts 2:1-21.

Jesus said, don't think God cares just a little bit more for you than for the birds of the air?  "Are you not much more valuable than they?"  (Matthew 6:26).  Indeed you are.

You, dear heart, are the crown of creation, His glorious
image bearer.  And He will do everything it takes to rescue
you and set your heart free.

I hope and pray that you may feel the power and presence of the Spirit and hear the roaring sound of God claiming you as the beloved, born of the spirit.

If you have any concern or need, please feel free to contact me and the office anytime.

God is good all the time!
Pastor Don
